Hello!

I hope all of you are managing the difficulties of these challenging days well. I pray you are healthy and safe.

This is a great time to be a writer! I’m working on Cowabandon and as it is in its’ fifth incarnation, it’s coming along well. I’m happy I haven’t rushed to publish. Most writers produce one maybe two books a year. I published three in four months and numerous short stories, so I’m not apologizing that this is taking awhile.

When Cowabandon is published it will be in print and ebook formats. It will be the next book in the series BUT it will also bring readers up to date with the various characters and storylines in the previous books. This is because it is just too cost prohibitive for me to republish the earlier books in print. IF you would like a printed version of Cowgirl Up, Cowbabies or the Christmas Story, we can provide ones we’ve printed ourselves and they will soon be available in Lacey’s Gift Shop here.

Lacey’s Gift Shop is our next big project. Melody has been diligently gathering and making Cowgirl (and Cowboy!) merchandise to stock the online store and it will be available whenever we have a book signing or booth at a craft or publishing show.

Stay safe. Stay home. And Read.

God bless you and yours,

MC

Hello!

I’m sure you’re feeling neglected but I haven’t totally abandoned the good friends of Evansville, Texas. There is a new update to Bullnapped today and a new recipe at the diner.

I’m committed to the LAST (oh please let it be the last) rewrite of Cowabandon and God-willing I’ll get it on Amazon by the end of the month.

I’m struggling with formats and templates converting the ebooks that are already published into paperbacks. Cowabandon will be released in both ebook and print media from the very beginning. Live and learn!

We are still working on stocking Lacey’s store with Cowgirl Up merchandise but it’s coming and we will also have a booth at some upcoming trade shows, so marketing is moving forward.

As always your reviews, shares and recommendations are the best advertising possible. Thank you so much for your loyalty to these stories and characters!

Until next time,

MC ❤️🙏🏻😊

Good Morning!

As promised last week, I’ve posted an installment to “Bullnapped.” It’s gettin’ good now! 😊

I’m still tweaking “Cowabandon” but am hopeful for a special release of it in conjunction with a print edition combining all the stories to date in one volume. I hope March, but we’ll see.

Until then, installments will be here and a new feature of the website will be introduced next week.

Thank you so much for your faithfulness!

Good Morning!

I’ve neglected you so! I’ve finished and submitted my short story entry so I can get back to Evansville now ❤️. I promise a LOT for Bullnapped is coming this week and an update on Chase and Annie. I can tell you now that she’s still around and her truck is parked in front of Chase’s cabin at Circle P.

I hope you’ve been stopping by the church and I’ll get Sam back in the kitchen at the diner too. 😊

Thank you for your patience!

Good Morning! There is a new recipe posted at the diner, a hearty Turkey Taco Soup for these lingering winter nights. Super quick, easy and tasty!

Thank you for understanding I need a little time away from Cowgirl Up to finish another project. In the meantime, while searching for a small rocker for my little trailer, I ran across this hysterical review of a product on Amazon and thought you might enjoy someone else’s writing for a change! 🤣

Wanna ruin your Sunday?

….and possibly your marriage? First of all, let me say that this chair is super rad once it’s assembled. Sturdy, good looking, comfortable. It fits all your chair needs….HOWEVER. ..Jesus Christ Himself would struggle with the assembly of this beast.

After reading the reviews, my husband and I knew we were in for a challenge but decided we were capable adults and between the two of us, we could put together a chair… Incorrect.

A bit of advice? The instructions. Throw them away immediately. Also find a friend with tiny, elf like fingers. This will be extremely helpful when tightening the bolts. Also, keep this elf person on hand for when it comes time to remove the number stickers from the wood which have been attached with an adhesive that NASA likely invented to glue together spacecrafts.

We found it helpful to refer to the picture of the assembled chair rather than use the instructions provided…they were so confusing that a few times I asked my husband if he thought it was possible that the company had put the instructions for a different product in our box by mistake. ..nope…there at the bottom of what may have well been the map of the human genome was the effing star rocking chair. All assembled and looking smug.

Finally, when the sun is setting and you have ordered two chairs but only got one assembled, it’s important to take turns with your spouse enjoying your chair. For instance, one person can sit on a towel by the chair and look up and ask “how is it up there?” I found 15 minute intervals of chair time was fair.

I’ll let you know if our marriage survived the assembly of chair #2.

Hello! I know you are waiting for some story updates and I apologize. I’m trying to wrap up some other writing projects and I just can’t swap into these characters right now. That’s a GOOD thing! If you know me well, a few less voices in my head is a Godsend! 🤣

I have a short story entry that I’m finalizing for a contest and it’s been a few years since I’ve competed. Totally different story than Cowgirl Up and a different format. Let’s see if I can still stretch creatively. 🤞

Cowabandon will be coming out sometime before March and I’m trying to get materials ready to do some appearances and put a booth together for some shows.

So I’m not just resting on my laurels but I am neglecting Bullnapped right now. I think maybe Outlaw Annie came to an ending and I haven’t heard anything from anyone about continuing that storyline.

I hope you are continuing to check in at the church for some daily encouragement and I’ll post a recipe at the diner soon.

Thank you for your patience as always!
